Featuring an elongated 48mm coned spool this reel is able to offer you massive casting potential. It is also fitted with an especially designed spool lip. This spool lip has been put in place in order to further extend the casting ability of the Tournos 10000 Continental, as well as limiting the risk of tangles. This is a classic big pit in the truest sense of the word and the deep spool that the reel comes fitted with can hold between 300 yards and 480 yards of line (depending on line diameter and breaking strain). You can also purchase a separate Extra Deep Spare Spool which offers between 310 yards and 640 yards of line potential, ideal for those anglers’ who like to cast the furthest distances possible. To ensure you are still able to achieve flawless line lay, even which these huge quantities of line, the Sonik Tournos 10000 Continental has been fitted with a worm drive system. This oscillation system ensures your reel has perfect line lay each time – which in turn adds those vital few meters on to your distance casting.
The body and rotor of the Sonik Tournos 10000 Big Pit Continental has been constructed from a high strength carbon composite. This ensures that, despite the reel’s size, the Sonik Tournos is incredibly lightweight and remarkably the reel weighs in at a mere 760g. The carbon composite rotor is as oversized as the spool is to ensure the reel can offer the kind of line retrieve that you need from a distance casting machine. Able to bring in 98cm of line per turn this reel offers an impressive 4.5:1 gear ratio.
